Blackbird singing in the dead of night

Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve updated this blog (not as long as Allison but still a long time). I’ve been so busy with school and work. So, I will start from where I left off. Thanksgiving weekend in Sarnia was very relaxing and fun. My aunt, uncle and cousins from Montreal came down and we had a great time (although we didn’t get to go to the fair…thanks Dana). The Tuesday after Thanksgiving I started my first three-week practice teaching block. I have two grade 10 Spanish classes and one grade 9 Core French class. I have been teaching time to the Spanish classes (how to tell time in Spanish, the 24 hour clock, expressions such as ‘it’s quarter to…’). They wrote the test on Thursday and they did so awesome….guess they had a great teacher…haha! I’ve been working on a mystery story with the French class. This week we are finishing it and they have to write a police report on who committed the crime (a lot of them have been asking me who did it and I tell them that I was sworn to secrecy and cannot tell….but honestly they never give an answer in our book either…haha….so mean). This week we are starting seasons and places in Spanish and continuing the story in French. The fist week of teaching I was stressed and nervous cause I didn’t know how much they knew or what they knew but now I am having a blast and I don’t want to leave these guys….tear! I go back to school next Monday so hopefully I’ll have more time to catch up with everyone (these past two weeks have been spent teaching, working and writing lesson plans).
Other than that, I have been working 3 nights a week and Saturdays. I am verifying MasterCard applications for Quebec and they are just too freaking funny. I am not use to the Quebec accent anymore and it really makes me laugh….of course I put on a fake accent too just for the fun of it! haha! I have been going out every Saturday night with my roomies just to stay sane. Last night Lucas’s family was visiting and they all came out to the bars with us. His parents danced the night away with all of us and then ordered pizza for us at 3am….so cool! Finally, this Friday is my graduation…..should be good!
There’s an update a half.

To: Allison, Tony, Brad and Nikki

I have been trying to reach you guys but I am working until 10 and only get home at 11 most nights so it makes it impossible for me to talk to you guys. You better all book off Friday, October 29th and the following Saturday morning cause it's my graduation! The graduation is at 1pm in Waterloo but I understand if you cannot make the ceremony cause it's in the middle of the afternoon BUT you have two weeks to change your shifts cause you are all invited back to my place for a bbq and a night out to celebrate.... don't even try saying no because Laurier is the reason that I met you guys and the reason that I was in Waterloo for three years so you guys have to celebrate my accomplishments with me!!!! That's it

Now it's time to cut the cake.....

So today is the big Birthday day. First of all, it's Ema's sweet sixteen!!! And it's also Mariesette and Katie's Birthdays. Happy Birthday guys!
Other than that I thought I should update you all on my life. It's been quite hectic here in London. I started working at Citibank and I work 3 nights a week from 5-10. The other two nights I am in class until 6pm so I am never home before 7. I usually leave for school around 7am. Long days! On Fridays I teach at Oakridge Secondary School and starting this Tuesday (after Thanksgiving), I will be teaching for three weeks straight. No more class for me....but I still have to go to school. I've actually also joined two committees at school AND I still find time to hang out with my 'roomies'.
We went out on Saturday night to Molly Bloom's (it's bigger than the one in Waterloo) and we had a very fun night....not such a good morning though...
I am finally graduating on Friday, October 29th from Laurier (if I get the night off of work). Everyone is invited and we might head to London afterwards for a bbq and some 'drinks'. You guys can all sleep over. We have a lot of room (but I might work on Saturday so you'll have to see yourselves out!!!).
Guess that's it.

Happy Sweet Sixteen Ema
